Doug Elwell’s Candidate Statement

Credibility, truth and open communication have been my guiding principles in previous leadership roles.

These included 10 years on Silver Bay Naknek BOD and 25 years of service on the Bristol Bay Reserve insurance pool. I have retired from both positions but gained valuable industry knowledge from each.

I bought into Bristol Bay in 1992. Before that I drifted in SE Alaska and fished crab in the Bering Sea.

Focusing on sockeye science and proper stewardship of fisherman funds are my guiding principles.

  5. Please explain your position on the Pebble Mine project.

Opposed. Simply the wrong place and the wrong business model.

  6. Is there another issue that you would like to respond to?

    Thanks for your consideration.
