BBRSDA has been advocating for a Bristol Bay drift fleet-specific insurance option to potentially reduce insurance costs for our members. Sea Mountain Insurance has answered the call with a new program called Bristol Bay Masters Fleet, that addresses many of the common insurance needs of our fleet. As with any policy, individual circumstances vary, so we encourage members to review the details and determine if it’s a good fit for their operation.

What makes this program different: The policy is structured around the Bristol Bay sockeye season (May 15 – September 1) rather than billed monthly, and coverage is scoped to Bristol Bay waters only.

Bristol Bay Masters Fleet (BBMF) program highlights:

  • Renew either Spring or Fall (10/15/2026 or 4/15/2027)
  • Policies initiated after April 15 are available on a pro-rated basis for the 2026 season.

  • Competitive rates

All inquiries should go directly to Sea Mountain Insurance:

Sea Mountain can provide more details on rates, criteria, and warranties. BBRSDA has no involvement in the application process or policy administration.

BBRSDA is grateful that our advocacy has resulted in a new insurance option built specifically for the Bristol Bay drift fleet.
